 AI in Mathematics Education an introduction

Thanks for introducing me to the august audience Dr Moghe. I am truly obliged. Continuing the series of the blog I would like to introduce concepts and terminologies of artificial intelligence, how these terminologies are shaping the world in which we are working and teaching. All subjects in general and mathematics in particular. Also, I will be talking about maths games enhancing the concept of Beyond Abacus.


Primarily I have been into the education industry for the past 7-8 years.  I have worked intensely on various research opportunities in IIM Indore as an Academic Associate (IT) and as a data engineer in IIT Mumbai Incubator Iken solutions Mumbai. In IIM Indore, the focus is more on IT management project management, HR and agile methodologies so I worked closely with various faculties in this research domain. Also, during the tenure I co partnered with my Alma Mater  University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehradun on development of an application bracket Android for class participation marking (c p marking). The  preliminary stages of App were developed but interfacing with the system is yet to be done.


In Iken Solutions as a Data Engineer, I developed algorithms for categorising and recommending hello tunes for Airtel. The research was done using text mining and audio classification. It led to creating customer profiles and finally recommending hello tunes.

Most importantly, both these work experiences helped me to grow as a professional. My exposure to the use of echnology in education started and during my MTech program when I had written a research paper on education games their importance in learning concepts and hence an overall better learning experience.


 Although, since 2010 I had joined IIM Indore as General Duty Assistant,  a plush 9 to 5 job in a green campus with least struggle but the entrepreneur inside me told me that there are bigger horizons and that's why I went for M.Tech Artificial Intelligence in 2012 and finished it in 2014 with better grades than my Engineering (Information Technology) from Medicaps Institute of Technology and Management (Affiliated with RGPV University)


Having long formal exposure to Mathematics as a subject, parental teaching background, my own AI background coupled with lots of risk appetite and entrepreneurial spirit my focus is on artificial Intelligence and maths and it's gamification.

    Good morning, today's blog written by Snehal, my niece, I am very proud and overwhelmed to read about her academic achievements and her research work. Being a relative is a natural affection, but reading her write ups, really makes me feel proud of her, as well as her parents. Dr. Moghe is really blessed with really very affectionate, intelligent and obedient daughters. Congratulations Sir for Snehal's first publication on Beyond Abacus.

The role of experience In the behaviour school of psychology, who treat, observe, measure only the behavioural aspects, modification in behaviour is considered learning. For example, if you are training your dog to get the ball back, it does it, it has learnt what it means to get the ball back.
